Did you know the city of Portland got its name from a coin flip? Isn't that incredible? A coin flip..

Imagine if this were our system of government. We could elimate ALL state and federal legislatures, Congress AND the Senate, local courts, district courts AND the Supreme Court, etc.

Just flip a coin and leave it to fate. Indoctrination could begin with our youth. "Mom, can I have a cookie before dinner?" Flip for it. Heads = yes. "Mom, can I stay up for 10 more minutes?" Let's flip for it.

Before I begin, please give me a little latitude, here. I know how uninteresting it can be reading about anything governmental or political...staid, dry, and word salads that get way out past the 'weeds.'

So, in my attempt to engage readers, throughtout this site, I've injected some of my humor, silliness, & out of the box ideas to keep the material light, fun & interesting.

Lest you forget, I have a background in the funny pages, having created a published comic strip for 5-years in the DAILY COURIER, COUNTRY WEEKLY, & SNEAK PREVIEW. I tend to see things differently, hopeful, silly, ridiculous.

I'm also an award-winning American Children's Author, (Stevie Tenderheart books) so, there is that.

Some will find my wit and charm, inappropriate in these trying times. BUT THAT'S THE POINT. While others will understand my purpose. But make no mistake, this is serious business. (Here's a little secret, I use my charm to disarm and persuade. That's how I get things done!)

My approach is different than other candidates inasmuch as I am flipping the script, somewhat.

I will NOT bore you with repetitive, self-serving, endless speeches, conducting interviews, doing debates, or filling out 'organizational specific' self-interest, agenda questionnaires.

I also apologize for my limited travel and appearances throughout our district at this precise moment, due to my first & hopefully last, sciatica manifestation.

Driving is akin to sitting on a steak knife! (Yowser!)

I have been to nearly every county in Oregon at one time or another. We are more alike than we are different.

Congress has a pathetic favorable rating. What do you suppose a reasoned person would deduce, as to why that is?

It's voters through and through. [We] elect them. Moreover, after candidates reveal themselves, as whoremongers, liars, cheats, thiefs, rapists, disrespectful, obstructionists, bigots, or bullies, and conspiracy theorists, we RE-ELECT THEM!

This crap has to stop, now!

That's an order!

Come on, we're better that that!

Vet your legislators better!

You know which states I'm referring to.

Thankfully, Oregon has a stellar record of electing high functioning, thoughtful adults at the federal level. At least we're not embarrassing ourselves, or being lampooned.

Come to think of it, if you think our president is too old, or the other guy is to cray cray, with control issues, hellbent on destroying our nation, our democracy, and you want another option, I suppose I could take one for the team, as a Write-in candidate for president. #POTUS

I Invite you to learn all you can about your choices for representation. In the end, I hope my candor (openness, honesty and sincerity) along with my roots, background, experiences, ideas, positivity, sense of humor, wit, vigor and charm, and of course, dashing good looks, can and will WIN your vote.

I am not like other candidates as I am definitely NOT a politician. I am instead, a representative. Your representative in- waiting. I CAN GET THINGS DONE!

I am not running to serve my own agenda, but rather to endeavor to serve as YOUR legitimate representative in Congress.

To do that I have to listen...to you!

This is not about me, per se.

And yes, while I have eyes of my own and my own opinions and convictions on matters of importance to me personally, and my family, community, morals, etc., I must listen to what [your] individual concerns are so that I can become knowledgeable and effective. How else will I be able to advocate for you unless I know exactly what's important to you, to Oregon, our district, our way of life?

I'll likely leave forest management, salmon runs, dam removals, land & water rights to the big dogs, our tremendously "gifted" competent, statesmen (US Senators) Wyden/Merkley!

-- If homelessness is your primary concern, I will attack it like an Australian Shepherd- Golden Retriever-Pit Bull mix, resolving this horrendous, inhumane issue, once and for all! (Campaign Promise #1)

-- If the [border crisis] tops your list, I will move heaven and earth like a 'Border' Collie to keep Californians south of Ashland!

-- I will also stop Idaho from encroaching on God's green bounty, our national treasures, (and eastern Oregon), too, if that is 'your' desire.

Bottom line is, I don't have all of the answers! Heck, I don't even know what all of the questions/problems are that I can attack head-on, on your behalf. That's why I need to hear from you, even if it's a letter I can write on your behalf, to your local officials. It doesn't even have to be a national issue.

Maybe you're disgusted with nuisance neighbors, weekend burn piles that ruin the community's clean, fresh air. Maybe it's a zonning issue, or the USPS sending your local mail to Portland first, and then back again, some 600 miles round trip. Such a STUPID IDEA! I'll FIX that nonsense internally, (DC).

-- Just receiving a letter with my name on Congressional letterhead, lets them know, they're now on my radar--and they best move quickly! Lest you forget, the pen is mightier than the sword!

I maybe can't catch every call or respond to every email or letter (the funnel effect) but I can listen to your messages and assess my path for prioritization & eventual resolution.

The best part of getting your emails is they become a tapestry of source documents which can then be printed, documented, and outsourced to the correct agencies or committees to be studied.

I'm afraid voicemails alone are impractical or at least, problematic. They can get lost or deleted before the merits can be evaluated.

Hello Again,

Much of my youth was spent in Ashland, Grants Pass, Medford, Klamath Falls, Burns, Ontario and Coos Bay.

It was important for me to return to my GP roots after retiring from the USAF (Age 40) to raise my then three young sons in the family hometown atmosphere I had enjoyed growing up, among s and to have my sons attend high school where my mom and grandparents graduated (GPHS).

Being a proud Marshfield Pirate, myself, it was not an easy transition rooting for the blue & white Cavemen. My blood runs purple and gold to this day! And Oregon green, too!

I have such fond memories growing up in Coos Bay (Empire) during my formative years. At age 10, (5th grade, Michigan Avenue) I won First Place in the citywide Punt Pass & Kick (PP&K) annual contest, beating everyone, even the 15-year-old men! I became a 'two-peat' back-to-back first place winner. I was sponsored by the S. F. 49ers and wore my letterman jacket to school the next day. But only once. Seems the real jocks were a tad bit jealous of the new kid. The girls sure noticed, though.

I captured my youth in A Boy's Life (The Accidental Astronaut) available on Amazon.

My grandparents were avid rock hounds. We kids tagged along beachcombing Bandon, Brookings and Good Beach shorelines looking for treasures. I remember it always being windy and messing with my golden locks. We loved the Dunes, Winchester Bay, Pony Village and the county fair at Myrtle Point. We all loved to bowl and skate at the roller rink. We swam every chance we got at North Bend's Olympic sized pool.

I had my first real girlfriends, Susan Renchausen & Donna Shadley. No, not at the same time. (Donna had a horse--Ribbon.) Her mom taught me to drive on the roads of Bastendorff Beach Park--three on the column, baby.

As early as age 10, I earned my own money shoveling dried chicken poop for 10 cents a bag, peeling chittum bark and picking all manner of berries--cranberries, blackberries, huckleberries, and string beans, too. I was rIch! My mom made delicious cobblers.

I spent summers at my grandparents in Hazel Dell, WA picking strawberries, raspberries and beans. I saved most of my money but I also never met a banana split I didn't like. I had money for fun-filled Saturdays at Jantzen Beach--my first and LAST rollercoaster ride!!

Tired of riding the bus from Empire to Marshfield, I bought my first car, a

'56 Chevy, for $225!

I remember hitchhiking to Eugene a hundred times with my best Empire Rats (friends), Kerry "Crane" Dog and Doug Wright, and Mike Hasberger, Mark "Moe" Phillips, as underclassmen supporting our MHS varsity football and basketball team games. Eugene & Springfield are such fun cities, and were so alive and beautiful back then.

Growing up in the shadow of "Pre" was such a gift.

During my alternating summers to Grants Pass, with my other grandparents in Hazel Dell, WA,

I was neighborhood friends with the Fosbury boys. Dick Fosbury won gold in the '68 Olympics. (Mexico City). I taught him everything he knows.

We learned to "flop" in his backyard and I likely could have beaten the 'Fos' record but landing on sawdust smarts. The higher you go, the harder you flop. It was counterproductive to achieving a personal best (PR). High jumpers and pole vaulters have it SO easy nowadays landing on soft, cushy, foam pillows.

I enlisted in the USAF right out of Marshfield High school, Coos Bay. Class of '71. (Go Pirates!)

I served my nation faithfully and honorably as a Mustang for 22-distinguished years, (Enlisted 14 years, Officer 8 years) retiring from my last tour of duty in Korea as a Commander supporting two F-16 fighter squadrons, on New Year's Eve 1993 as a Captain.

Two elections back, the Secretary of State approved my application to run for Congress as an [unaffiliated] candidate for the 2nd District. I only needed 3,942 signatures to make the general election ballot. Unfortunately, Covid stopped that effort in its tracks. You couldn't approach anyone. Fear was rampant.

Then the dawning of a new election. When I learned that Peter DeFazio was retiring and I could represent my 2nd hometown (4th district), I filed my application on 1/6/2022 as a meaningful tribute to honor and correct the horrific and disgusting display (attack) on our democracy on the Capitol grounds. The wrongly inspired underbelly of the 'Ugly American' revealed themselves as naive, manipulated, pawns, incapable of thinking for themselves.

I did not and do not want to serve as a guardrail or roadblock but a defensive tackle.

At 6'5" 290lbs, I will not be bullied, manipulated, or conscripted as a pawn!

It was a sickening display of mob mentality. All based on insightful arrogance and utter ignorance! It proves just how gullible sick minds are. The fact RED GOP leadership still cowars to a belligerent dark force is beyond my comprehension. I intend to be a counterbalance to indecency and insanity if elected as your representative. I will never embarrass or dishonor my beloved state of Oregon!! I will NEVER walk out!

I would appreciate your primary vote. Then your General Election vote.

Having a creative nature, I find politics both exhilarating and at times boring.

It gets so old with all of the rhetoric blah, blah promises and alike.

Government ought to move quicker, be leaner and way more efficient.

I will never lie to you!

You may not like the truth but it's all I know.

I am simply dumbfounded how many nut jobs occupy a seat of government. And how they are reelected time and time again baffles me.

It really comes down to:

"Whomever YOU vote for speaks more about YOU than any candidate."

While our country is devolving as a democracy, it's going to take everyone of us to make sure it stops! You do that by vetting the candidates you want to represent you.

Make sure they have YOUR best interests at heart. HELLO!

I will never suck up to you to get your vote or to stay in office.

I have lived in Grants Pass for 30 years now since retiring from the USAF and returning to my hometown roots to raise my then young sons as a single dad. We have devolved as a state, counties, and cities. Growing up in Coos Bay (Empire) from age 10 through high school was the best childhood any kid could have!

Playing varsity football against all the brilliant, brave and tough Lane County / Eugene schools instilled core values and pride in me that have lasted a lifetime. Playing on the new Autzen Stadium field remains a cherished memories.

Head football coach, Ara Raoul Parseghian recruited me to play for Notre Dame. And then the Green Bay Packers drafted me #1 as their back-up quarterback to Bart Star.

-- Only downside to my future in the college and NFL Hall of Fame(s) was my awaking from a deep dreamscape because of that blasted alarm clock! I was so close. I would have so enjoyed going up against the purple people eaters. (See YouTube/Rangerbay1)

Still, I am a Marshfield Pirate through and through. Congress needs a pirate, don't you think?

I want every kid to relive their own magic moments taking their pride and values with them out in to the world.

I think Congress is broken because of a conflict of interest.

-- Imagine how ineffective any team or organization would be if they were continually being undermined! It's so counterproductive to governing. Investigating crooked members and their families is important but not as important as doing the peoples' work.

-- Or beholding to their base!

It's as a direct result of a lack of will, vision,

priorities & leadership.

[TERM LIMITS] WOULD RESOLVE THIS NONSENSE!

Oregon is so rich with people, ideas, resources.

We don't have border issues, that is, unless you count Californians & Idaho, as previously mentioned.

We do have big city thinkers and rural thinkers.

Despite Congress being in such chaos,

I need to focus on the 2nd District of my state.

Together, we need to create our own bucket list.

I have a big vision for our country.

But first, I need to take a seat. I'd like to see what I can do to improve our district counties, state as your middle-class representative.

(You deserve truer, hard-working, middle-class representation!)

I think as you read this website, you'll get a fairly good bead on me.

Depending on the issue, I am ALL of these: Left, Right, Conservative, Moderate, Progressive,

and even Liberal.

I value Common Sense and Common Good most.

Who I am, what I think, what I believe:

Honesty, Truth, Justice, Integrity, Values, Moral Compass, Manners.

Character Still Matters!

Government is lacking is innovation. New ideas.

They operate much too slowly.

They are horrible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

If just one of my ideas improved our nation

it might serve as a propelling catalyst.

Oregon has very specific issues that demand immediate attention.

Uppermost in my mind, as I contemplate a ballot measure initiative changing Grants Pass to Smoke Valley, I think it's imperative to improve the quality of life for all the congressional districts in Oregon and the nation. That includes, air quality, forest management, water rights, agriculture, farms, ranchers, hemp, traffic, recreation, crime, housing, homelessness, violence toward women, pay/jobs, addictions, etc...

We must foster a NEW NORMAL!

While I may have my own opinions on all manner of topics, I do listen.

I AM NOT a Keynote speaker but rather a Keynote listener!

I intend to serve as YOUR representative. What is it that YOU want? I am capable of asking for directions and changing my mind if the data or logic makes better sense to me than my own contrived biases.
